Self-Employment Assistance Program
Have you decided to start your own business? The NW Business Training Center can help. Our 5-week business training program, "Business Boot Camp" series, can provide you with a strong business foundation and practical training. Our program is approved by the Washington State Employment Security Department, which means, if approved by Employment Security, you can continue to collect unemployment benefits while you receive entrepreneurial training and business counseling during the five-week course. As an entrepreneur in planning, you will learn the basics in marketing, finance, and business operations and management.
As an approved SEAP provider, our program features three components:
Business Consulting for students
Our consulting service is available to you at no cost to discuss your business needs. As you move through the program preparing to establish your practice, we will provide general counseling that include not only how to succeed professionally, but also to discuss personal budgeting, credit, how to fund your business idea, and related issues.
Throughout the program, you have the opportunity to meet with a consultant to discuss your business idea and cover areas in bookkeeping, sales, pricing, operations, human resources, legal structures, and financing your business, or other topics relating to your business.
Certificates are awarded by the instructor and are based on student’s completion of the course with a completed business plan.
